Are you looking to record your screen on your iPhone, but you’re unsure of the apps you’ll need to accomplish that?

We’ve done the research for you for and found the best of the best for each platform, so you don’t have to! Watch the video below for more

We wanted to find out which apps were the best of the best, so we found and downloaded 9 apps from the App Store. All of the apps were free, though some did have in-app purchases, adn some pushed very annoying ads during the process.

Overall, there were 3 that were the best in terms of use and price.  One of them you already have on your iPhone, and may not even know it!

Here’s a breakdown of the 3 best screen recording apps for your iPhone:

RECORD IT! (Free, and a $3.99 upgrade)

Record It! Is a simple, good-quality app for easily recording your iPhone screen. It’s free to download, but there is a $3.99 upgrade available that unlocks more features, but for basic screen recording and sharing, you don’t need the upgrade.

Key features include:

    • Utilizes your iPhone’s microphone to record your voice
    • “FaceCam” option
    • Very easy to use
  • Can record and create picture-in-picture style videos

DU RECORDER (Free)

We’re still not sure how to pronounce the name (“duh” recorder?), but this app not only records your screen but brings some more robust features to the table.

Key features include:

    • Can livestream your phone screen to Twitch, Facebook, or YouTube
    • Saves video file directly to Apple Photos app
  • Gives you the option to create a GIF, edit the clip, or share

Here’s a step-by-step tutorial on how to use DU Recorder.

BUILT-IN SCREEN RECORDER! (Free)

You may not know this, but if you have an iPhone with iOS 11 or later installed, you already have a built-in screen recorder! You must have it in the Control Center to use, but it’s easy to add in Settings.

Key features include:

    • It’s free and comes with your phone!
    • Ridiculously simple
    • Basic clip trimming in Apple Photos

Here’s a simple tutorial we found on how to use the iOS built-in screen recorder.

Out of all the research and testing we did, these 3 apps stood out the most to us for their ease of use, simplicity, feature set, and price. If you need to record your iPhone screen but don’t want to spend money on a fancy app you don’t need, any of these 3 options will work for you!
